John W. Chapman III graduated from Holmen High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he earned three Associate of Applied Science Degrees from Western Technical College, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin and is currently employed by the Wisconsin Department of Administration as a Capital Projects Manager. In this role, John serves as the Section Chief of Construction Oversight in the Bureau of Architecture and Engineering.

John is an avid runner and triathlete. He has competed in multiple marathons and is a three-time finisher of Ironman Wisconsin. John and his wife Sandy reside in Holmen and have two children, Ryan and Samantha. Both Ryan and Samantha are Holmen graduates, received congressional nominations and accepted appointments to the United States Naval Academy.
