Derek Russell

A 2021 Holmen High School graduate, Derek served as an Officer on the Student Leadership Team and captained the Holmen Boys Soccer Team to their first ever state tournament appearance. Derek is passionate about making a positive impact in the classroom, in the community, and especially in his relationships. These passions led him to pursue a degree in History Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he will graduate in 2024. After graduation, Derek hopes to become a teacher, a soccer coach, and later pursue a Masters in Administration. Derek intends to give back to the Holmen community in any way possible because of how much Holmen gave to him growing up. His advice to future Holmen High School students is to be bold, take risks, and get involved.
